Planetary Nebula NGC 2899: The bright Planetary Nebula in the constellation of Vela was discovered in 1835 by John Herschel.Its curved form seems somewhat strange for a Planetary Nebula, which normally are rotationally symmetrical about one or several axises. NGC 2899 is in a distance of approx. 3000 LY.
The image was taken at the IAS astronomical site at the Hakos farm in Namibia.
